History National
Roofing has actually been around since 1909. Todd
McKee is the 4th generation in his family to be in the roofing business. Originally operated by James McKee in Cartwright Township – which is east of Port Perry
in Nestleton, Ontario. James and his son Lorne operated a saw mill which
supplied all the lumber and metal to the local farmers to use on their barns. This business operated from 1909 until the mid
1930’s. James retired, leaving Lorne
to run the business. In the 1950’s,
Lorne's sons, Calvin and Jim,
started the roofing business with two other young men, Laverne & JC, brothers from Pontypool. They ran the roofing business and farmed
for thirty years. In 1980 Todd
McKee took over the business and changed the name to National Roofing. Todd
has been in the roofing business for over 28 years. Helping his Uncles as a young child
stimulated his interest in the roofing industry. Todd is always looking to upgrade his
products. Years ago he found products that he uses today – Asphalt and
Metal Roofing materials. Since using
these materials, National Roofing
has had many happy customers with many referrals.
